Henan Square Pod Hospital has a total design capacity of 4,005 beds, divided into nine zones and constructed in two phases. The first phase immediately provides 3,281 beds. In support of Henan's epidemic prevention and control to achieve an early zero case goal and to address the shortage of isolation facilities, Yahengtengfei collaborated across three cities: Changsha, Wuhan, and Chengdu, urgently mobilizing 500 sets of folding container houses, working day and night for rapid deployment.
The square pod hospital is mainly divided into three functional areas: medical office area (including health passage area), ward area, and exit area. Each ward area is equipped with a nurse station, nurse observation point, and corresponding supporting service rooms. Every two rows of square pods have a nurse station with facilities such as a nucleic acid collection room, emergency room, waste room, and treatment preparation room. The medical staff office area has dressing and undressing rooms with equipment like ultraviolet lights and disinfection fans. An isolation ward area has two beds, each measuring one meter by two meters, equipped with bedside tables and call buttons.
Outside the wards, each ward area is accompanied by a series of bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with emergency call buttons, ultraviolet lights, washbasins, flush tanks, and other facilities. Above the bathrooms, exhaust fans are installed, and the shower rooms are equipped with heaters and water heaters.
With the continuous efforts of over 900 workers working day and night, the project was successfully completed and delivered for use in 45 days.
